Internationalization of Amazônia I

After receiving a few emails from Brazilian friends with the exact text you have regarding "The Internationalization of Amazônia" I did some research and I found this article — Deep in Brazil, a Flight of Paranoid Fancy — in The New York times, which I am sending to you. Maybe you should upload this also as a contrasting point of view. Best, --Jack

Internationalization of Amazônia II

The article published by your initiative about Internationalization of Amazônia was wonderful for all us, Brazilians, who think like Mr. Buarque in a similar way. This show that independent of our conscious we are about our reality we know other nations do not have showed better conditions since the have had burned their own. In last weeks we could see Mr. Bush recommended cut the trees off for avoiding destruction of forests. We, of a country in development, never heard a Brazilian President saying that.

Sure to take care of this huge area it is very expensive and need much more than we have to employ in that region. First of all it is necessary to know that our natural resources are not available for to be changed by our debts in IMF agreements. Mr. Buarque made me proud to be Brazilian.
